5 Reasons to Sell Your Home in Spring

Figuring out the best time of year to move is always difficult, but for those of you one the fence, we wanted to share the five reasons that Spring may be the perfect time to share your home. Be sure to check out our video and let us know if you have any other questions! We can’t wait to help!

      1. More buyers are out searching.
Spring is the time of year when most people choose to sell, so that increases your likelihood to sell your home quickly. Plus, if multiple people end up being interested in your home, it’s possible that they will drive up the price through a bidding war, which is always amazing to experience as a seller!

      1. The great weather emphasizes the beauty of your house.
Every single house looks more beautiful and inviting in the Spring, which can add to the value of your home. This is especially true if your home has an outside WOW factor. For example, if you have acreage, a pool, or some sort of water feature, you really want to call attention to that element of your house at the time of year when it seems the most desirable. After all, that beautiful green grass is going to be brown in a few months, and nobody gets quite as excited by that as they do when everything looks lively and beautiful.

      1. Longer days leave more time for showings.
As you may have noticed, the closer we get to the summer, the longer the daylight lasts each day. While this may seem like a small thing, it’s actually super important for showings because most people who are looking for houses don’t have a ton of free time and often have to slip in a showing after work or after a soccer game on the weekend. When there is more daylight, that gives those potential buyers more of a chance to visit your house and fall in love with it!

      1. Closing time will likely be during the summer.
For homes that get listed in the Spring, it is very likely that they will actually close over the Summer because the actual closing process takes time. Summer tends to be the time where many people have the most free time, so that makes it more convenient to handle everything that comes along with moving. It can be especially helpful if you have kids home from school who might be able to help you take care of your to do list!

    1. Millennials are finally ready to start buying homes after the economic trouble they faced. For years the oldest Millennials have been trying to overcome the downturn that the market faced right when they were starting getting ready to buy their first homes, and the time has finally come where they are ready to buy houses. That makes this Spring the perfect time to put your house on the market, especially if it’s what we call a “Starter home,” which basically just means that it’s most likely to appeal to someone just starting out in their home-buying experience. You don’t want to wait until this entire generation has already settled down, especially when so many of them are now getting married and looking for a place to call their own!
